Clearwater Forest Camp provides a stunning backdrop for Storyhill Fest. Come enjoy the comfortable lodges, cabins, and play fields as well as recreating on the water and trails. The camp includes cabins and tent space for festival attendees. Each spacious cabin has 12 beds and a screened porch. The cabins are lit with rechargeable electric lanterns and have no plumbing. All cabins are within very short walking distance to the bath house. The bath house is a large, modern and very pleasant facility featuring plenty of toilets and sinks, along with 16 showers and a generous hot water system.
There are designated tent site locations. Volunteer staff will show people where to find the tent sites.
Storyhill Fest has a limited number of rooms available at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Resort, just two miles from the fest site. Just a short walk from Ruttger’s Main Lodge, these comfortable condos overlook Alec’s Nine golf course, making for spectacular views. Every condo rental has a flat-screen TV, refrigerator, WiFi, and is air-conditioned. Please visit the tickets page for more information and availability.
What safety measures are being put in place?
We will be following CDC and State of Minnesota guidelines and are working hard to create a safe environment for all attendees.
When will I get my Fest tickets?
Tickets to Storyhill Fest will not be mailed. All ticket purchasers will be on a list at the festival gate and will receive a wristband for the day/weekend.
Can I leave & come back?
Yes. All fest attendees will receive a wristband when they arrive that they are required to wear the entire weekend. This is your pass to enter and leave Clearwater Forest Camp.
When can I access Storyhill Fest?
The grounds for Storyhill Fest will open at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20. Any fest attendees who arrive before 12:00 p.m. will be held on the road until the grounds officially open. Fest grounds close at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22.
Where can I stay?
Clearwater Forest Camp has large grassy fields for tents, a campground for pop-up campers and RVs, and summer cabins that can sleep 14 (first come, first serve) all surrounding a clean shower house. For those who wish to stay at nearby Ruttger’s Bay Lake Resort, the Fest has a limited number of VIP tickets available that include a hotel room for two. Please see the ticket page for availability.
For those who want to find their own housing, the Brainerd Lakes Area has many hotels, resorts, AirBnbs and other accommodations. You will need to purchase day passes to attend the festival.

What types of food/drink will be available? Can I bring my own food?
We will have a food and beverage vendor onsite satisfy all attendees, including vegetarian and gluten-free! Please keep an eye on our website for a list of food options closer to the festival.
We do allow outside food into the festival grounds. However, if you plan to use a grill, please consult with a festival worker to locate specific areas for food prep.
NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED. Wine and beer may be purchased from our onsite festival vendor.
Are kids welcome?
Yes! Storyhill Fest is designed to be family friendly and is held at a youth summer camp for that very reason. With hundreds of acres to explore, a waterfront with kayaks, canoes, swimming, snorkeling, a swim mat, SUP, sail boats, lots of green grass and planned kid-focused activities – kids may have more fun than adults!
What happens if it rains? Do you issue refunds?
Storyhill Fest is a rain or shine event. Clearwater Forest has covered and indoor space for us to host smaller groups if there is inclimate weather. Please be prepared for Minnesota summer weather!
